About this Blog

After reading the book 365: A Daily Creativity Journal: Make Something Every Day and Change Your Life!
I decided to start a project and create something every day for a year. I decided to use index cards because they are small, cheap and have lots of potential. They also travel well should I need to work away from my home office.
There are no rules. I can use any media, I can work in 2-D or 3-D. Whatever I think up or feel like making that day goes.
I am going to try to get each Index Card (IC) to represent the day/mood/feeling/event if I can.

Day 57 - 2/26/12

Watching the academy awards. Funny. You think you know what an Oscar looks like til you try to sketch one

Day 56 - 2/25/12

Spent the majority of my day painting symbols and trees for Once On This Island

Day 55 - 2/25/12

Every year at the art auction there are these black and white abstract pieces and I ask our art teacher to teach me how to make them. I decided to try one on my own. How'd I do?

Day 54 - 2/23/12

So I found these two stamps in my desk drawer. Completely unrelated to each other and to my day. Decided to use them anyway

Day 53 - 2/22/11

Ash Wednesday. Wish I had saved some ashes but I didn't so I used pencil.

Day 52 - 2/21/12

They argued with me, my prealgebra class, they argued that as many of them got it wrong there was a problem with the question. I told them the algebra doesn't change just because the majority of them misunderstood it.
The correct answer is B

Day 51 - 2/20/12

I tell my basic math class that I will ask on the test if 51 is prime. I tell them the correct answer is no. I show them why. I tell them that even though I have just told them the answer they will (inexplicably) get it wrong. They do.

Day 50 2/19/12

Wow 50 days. I'm impressed.
I was also pleased to have two people confirm this week that they are reading this blog. Kinda cool.
Today is a collage again. The ferris wheel is from the same calendar as the watch a few days ago.
We are studying the unit circle in precalculus and I keep saying we are visiting trigonometry land.

Day 49 - 2/18/11

Spent the majority of my day cleaning paint rollers. Pink for Erzulie, orange and green for Asaka. As the paint flowed down the drain, it looked like melted rainbow sherbet

Day 46 - 2/15/12

Symbolic of how I spent my morning. Don't worry I was holding the box not using the tissues. I so fail at the comforting thing. But I can hold a tissue box.

Day 45 - 2/14/12

Today we have a guest artist. I asked one of my students if I could have this card for this blog. Thanks E. C.

Day 44 - 2/13/12

Okay. This started as a collage. I cut the watch out of a calendar page. Then I couldn't find any glue that wasn't dried up. So, I decided to stencil instead with the number stencil. 15 square inches is a lot to color when you're tired so I only colored part of it and outlined it in red. And there in the drawer with the red pen was a glue stick so I did the collage after all.
The first quote - or misquote - that came to mind was from a Rockapella song.

Day 43 2/12/12

Day 36 - 2/5/12

Tomorrow we shall recreate the entire ride experience from the haunted mansion live in the mpb. Today I finished drawing the portraits that stretch in the haunted room

Day 35 - 2/4/11

A recipe for yet another follies.

Day 32 - 2/1/12

I call this self portrait using iPhone camera. Here's sort of the actual pic of what the camera saw and the very quick pencil sketch of what was on the screen.
